In 2011 we organised a Senior Citizens Pre-Season pairs competition which was quite successful.
In 2012 we are again holding this competition but slightly different from last year..Ages will not be mixed -- Any-one (male and femal) over 65 years can partner any other player over 65 years.
THE DATE FOR THE COMPETITION WILL BE MONDAY 2nd APRIL 2012.
ENTRY FEE £8.00 per pair. Start at 9.30a.m.
THERE WILL ALSO BE A CONSOLATION COMPETITION. BOTH COMPETITIONS WILL HAVE MONEY PRIZES. PLAYED ON BOTH GREENS.

MARY WEBB SCHOOL YOUNG BOWLERS CLASS 2011
Once again pupils have been attending coaching sessions from the Pontesbury Bowling Club Senior members, at the end of the term pupils from the school played in a competition for the best bowler and this was won by Jack Phillips from Hanwood, ( already a member of Hanwood Bowling Club) he won against Mike Yapp from Minsterley. Although, the numbers were depleted because of lesson commitments we had a very enjoyable mornings bowling.
It is very encouraging to see how well the young bowlers are learning to play the game, we now have a reasonable standard of play and hope to see some of the youngsters in the future - there are many bowling clubs looking for junior members and I am sure they would be made welcome in any of them.
